Thanks and Happy New Year. I was looking for an ultra-lightweight Type-1 hypervisor that can boot an existing OS since I am experimenting with the development of a distributed OS in which multiple instances on physical machines can dynamically share resources (i.e. virtual CPU/GPU, virtual RAM, virtual Drives, etc.) To get started I wanted to be able to boot an existing Windows 10 (x64) or Ubuntu 23.10 (x64) but need something very small and functional that will probably run from UEFI and boot the OS after the hypervisor comes up. I basically have 2 types of projects of which I think that either MicroV or Mono could be the best starting point and I would like to discuss this just a bit with you about a selection and capability to get something simple running perhaps. Thanks again |
Hello,
I am exploring thin-hypervisors for possible use in a project that would focus towards the utilization of Unikernels over fully blown OS's and like the approach the MicroV uses and am interested a lot in the UEFI booting approach.
With that in mind, I am wondering if the project is still active and if we could discuss some ideas more?
Thanks and have a great day.
