What is the best practice for automating a set of test scripts on a daily schedule?

I have a need to run a set of test scripts on a automated schedule (e.g. every night, Monday through Friday). Up to now I just start everything up manually (e.g. cmd/tlm server) via the mouse. Are there any best practices or recommendations on how to start everything via a script (e.g. starting cmd/tlm server)?

You could use a cron job to launch everything and start ScriptRunner with the --run flag
