Can you build proper installer configs using kernel/initrd like the Ubuntu ones? Downloading an entire 700MB CD to a ramdisk before booting is inefficient, takes just about forever using an UNDI network stack (which a lot of people are likely to have under gPXE), and isn't even a workable option at all on machines with less than about 1.5GB of RAM.
Linux Mint is essencially "better ubuntu" from user's perspective: all codecs installed by default etc.
