Welcome to the obs-asio wiki!
The released plugin comes in two versions:
- versions 2 and later: based on Juce library; they are more stable than earlier versions. They have multi-device capability, which means that in obs-studio, you'll be able to use several asio devices at the same time.
- versions before 2.0.0 : they are based on portaudio library. These versions are deprecated; use them only if you have some bug with version 2 or later.
The plugin was compiled using our openAsio sdk which expands on SAR asio sdk and is fully GPL compliant, making this plugin compatible with obs-asio.
To download the plugin, check the Release section. For further instructions, check this wiki.
WARNING: it is a common misconception that this plugin should allow capture of an asio device outputs. It only allows capture of INPUTS which is as it should be. One can capture a mike, but not what goes to the speakers (the 'What U Hear' capture of SoundBlaster devices is NOT the rule, though some asio devices could have that). So the mix prepared in a DAW will NOT be able to be captured by this plugin in general. There are workarounds though. Check the Wiki section Capturing Mixes
