Saw the old post about this error, so I tried getting most recent version of vsix, but still get the error.

Doesn't happen with all solutions.
Visual Studio 2022 - Version 17.7.4
Ankh SVN extension - Downloaded artifact from MSBuild #160

Visual Studio showing version of extension as 2.9.87.0

My version number shows 2.9.120, so I suspect you didn't install a version with the fix.

@Rand-Random Where did you found the newer Version 2.9.120?
On the release page there is just 2.9.87.

Have another look at

updated the issue and included the version that I downloaded while the build actions/artifacts where still running/not expired.

Sadly there is no official released version with the fix, you can see a plea for a release here
