Agreed, this has become a public issue and a public apology is the right move. Gotta respect Emad for doing it in person as well. Everyone messes up but many would sooner double down rather than admit fault. Emad and Auto, keep up the great work both of you! |

This is the correct way to repair the rift that was caused in our community. We have to leave room for redemption in society or no one will ever learn from mistakes. Of course, it does not excuse certain actions and we should never forget, we can forgive and move forward. Holding ourselves accountable for our actions is the only way to move forward together. The Whole, is nothing more than a sum of it's parts. |

all of the drama about the code that supposedly automatic stole was bs, automatic already clarify everything about that in a reddit comment, it even wasn't the reason of why he was banned in the first place and emad confirmed it here, so in short, the code ALWAYS has been safe to clone. |

We have the same type of controversy in the emulation space -- outside of the realm of AI but within whether or not supporting proprietary software with open source is software piracy. They've spent money on court cases. Short answer: Its not, and the lessons have already been taught. Reverse engineering definitely isn't stealing, and derivative code can do what ever it wants. Hypernetworks also have helped improve multi-token targeted prompt quality significantly. That repo is public and cloneable by all. Been through the leak and line by line to investigate the claims, he did no copying from the leak, so yeah, null and void to start. |

I promote the link everywhere I go tomodachi, spread the love. I post it in every discord server about SD and any discussion involving SD, it's the best model for anime and word needs to be spread of where to get it so people don't get pickled by some malicious actor. |

Emad you're a good person your community here definitely can't fault you for weighing your ethical decisions. You're taking responsibility for things. Releasing this thing to the public's a serious emotional rollercoaster for everyone, and humans are going to have headaches through the stress of it. This is Emad from Stability AI posting here as this is where you spend most of your time.
I would like to apologise for the manner of my actions and any hurt they may have caused.
I should have reached out to you to talk one on one before doing anything to see if we could clear things up.
I can give the excuse that I was super busy and I also have lots of difficulty with social communication and putting myself in other peoples shoes but I still didn’t treat you like I would have wanted to be treated myself.
While I tried to not discuss any details the manner of things did imply that you were unethical which is not nice. I did disagree with some actions taken but the manner I acted was wrong.
Thank you for the hard work you have put into making this amazing technology even more accessible.
I will take some time from socials to focus on getting even more models and technologies for the creators to take and make the world happier.
I do not imagine you want to return to our specific Stability AI stable diffusion discord community but if you do just ping me. I think there is space for lots of communities and hope these will proliferate so folk can be where they are most comfortable. Diversity is our strength.
