Problem description

Commercial devices support the Group Communication API on the device in order to access and discover services. The MBMS Packet Delivery Service API is not supported. This is also indicated in the receiver profile.

Suggested solution description

Replace the packet delivery service API in clause 5.5.5 of TS 103 720 with the group communication API and discuss all details. Note that then the service announcement then also needs to be changed.

Alternative solutions

Stick with the Packet API as described in the standard and provide implementation guidelines how to use the group communication API together with the service announcement.
