it seems deprecated, according to https://forge.puppet.com/modules/it2ndq/barman/

https://forge.puppet.com/modules/deric/barman seems to be the up to date fork on the forge, but it should be noted @deric doesn't accept issues in the project, which is probably fine. just a small caveat.

@anarcat Issues might be tracked on github. Sorry, it wasn't disabled on purpose, probably default fork settings.

It's approx 4 years since I've asked this. I think we can safely assume, that it's not maintained anymore :)

Already switched to the module by @deric and happy about it!

hello there, original author here :) since this module was written i have left the company, and both it and I stopped using puppet for different reasons. this module is definitely not maintained. apologies for the delay!

thanks @xstasi for the update! i think it would be worth:

  • pinning this issue
  • adding a pointer to @deric's repository
  • archiving this repository

... if you can find the time of course! :)

and @deric, if i were you, i'd remove the fork relationship in GitHub as well: you credit this repo in the README, that's good enough... having that fork relationship confuses some things, especially when people send you merge requests...

@anarcat AFAIK detaching fork can be done only by deleting the repo. Are is there less destructive way? We would history of issues and pull requests.

oh wow, i didn't realize that. i naively assumed there was just a button that you could use to detach a fork (and i could have sworn i have done so myself on linkchecker, but i probably misremember, it's been a while), but you're right that at least the official documentation talks about deleting and recreating the fork which is, IMHO, completely bonkers.

that said, according to this SO post, it's possible to ask GitHub staff to detach the fork...

sorry for talking out of my ass a little bit here, i could have sworn that was trivial, but it seems it's more complicated than i thought!
